Throughout my whole life, I have gained some of the best friends through my high school and college years, clients, coworkers, associates, and strangers. None the less I have also lost some along the way of my journey. I do believe that in order to have a healthy relationship, you must treat others the way you want to be treated. We all know the consequence of treating someone wrong, Karma will surely humble you and have you questioning yourself.
Me being a friendly person and having sisters during my younger days made my circle much bigger and full of drama. You name it i had friends for everything. From the Social media friends you only comment and exchange likes with online. The turn up friends that only kick it with you on weekends to party and gossip about irrelevant people and things. Then there's the users who only call you when desperate times calls for desperate measures. But out of all those people there are a select few God put in your life to help you become the version of yourself. Those are the friends worth keeping around.
As a professional hairstylist, working in the salon with women made me realized how important and influential my relationship and friendships with other women was.
I decided to give nothing but love and support to the women around me. I complimented and give credit when needed. If I had nothing nice to say, I didn't say anything at all. If I felt jealous or start to compare myself I would quickly switch my thoughts to something I am grateful for and loved about myself. I encouraged a few people who came to me for advice without judging them. The impact a group of successful positive women can have on our lives is profound because at the end of the day, women understand women. Your vibe creates your tribe. To have another woman listen to you in a time of difficulty, without judgement or fear of gossip, to have her understand and respect the roller coaster of emotions running through you, is invaluable. To have another woman support you and believe in you, tell you that you can achieve your dreams in life and you are beautiful and strong, is invaluable.
My question is Why do we waste our precious moments befriending people that only bring the negative character out and makes us feel bad. If we are in control of our reality, why can't we choose our circle full of women who support, empower, inspire and most importantly LOVE each other.
With that question in mind, I was guided to start a women's tribe. Living in fear kept me astray from accomplishing many of my goals in the past. Never the less it's never too late to start anything you ever dreamed of. The name of the tribe is called Goddess G.L.O.W (Giving Love to Our Women) where women could gather to connect, network, empower, support and share resources. Giving Love & Also inspiring each other to revive old goals, make new ones and move towards them. As we GLOW (let our light shine) we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.
